
Beverly Jean Schmieg, age 71, of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, passed away peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday July 5, 2026. Born on February 19, 1955, in Saint Paul, Minnesota, Beverly lived a full life filled with much love for her family, friends, and the simple joys that brought her so much happiness.
Beverly graduated from Mechanic Arts of Saint Paul, where she was blessed to have met many longtime friends. She was deeply cherished by her significant other and partner of 42 years, Charles Love.
Beverly is survived by her daughter, Shannen Schmieg (Andreas). She also shared a special bond with her stepson, Jamal Love (Kim). Beverly’s family extended to her two beloved grandchildren, Wilhelm Schmieg and Amber Jean Schmieg, who brought immense joy to her life. She is survived by her siblings, Sharon Burger (Garry), Kathy Shetka (Jake), Gary Schmieg (Joni), Gordy Schmieg; her nieces and nephews, Mark Irwin (Michelle), Kevin Irwin (Stacey), Andrew Love, Renee Trebesch, Rita Trebesch, Roxy Cleary, Lori Schmieg, Crissy Partridge, Ana Nessuno, all who held special places in her heart. Beverly was predeceased by her parents, Clyde and Jean Schmieg; sisters, Shirley Trebesch (Darwin), Patty Mickelson (Pat), Pamela Marz (Tom), Diane Schmieg; nephew, Nicholas Schmieg.
Beverly found great joy in the outdoors. She loved fishing for walleye on Mille Lacs Lake and watching the sun set over a bonfire on Half Moon Island, weekend trips to the North Shore to watch the freighters arrive at Duluth Harbor was a highlight that brought her great memories. Her passion for black bears was well-known among those close to her. She visited the International Bear Center in Ely, Minnesota, that was the top of her bucket list. A lifelong cat mom to many cherished feline companions, Beverly’s love for animals was a defining part of who she was. She definitely wore her heart on her sleeve.
Her warmth and kindness touched the lives of many family members and dear friends who will forever treasure their memories of time spent with her.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, August 16, 2026, from 03:00 PM to 05:00 PM at Bunker Hills Activity Center, 550 Bunker Lake Blvd. NW, Andover, MN, 55304.
