

Arlene Wiberg, 99, passed away at her home in Pine City, MN, surrounded by her family. She was born March 10, 1927, in Cushing, WI, to Einer & Ruth (French) Olsen. She was the eighth of 14 children. Arlene’s family moved to Chisago City when she was young and she helped on the family farm. She met her future husband, Clem, in 1945 in Chisago City. They married and lived in Wyoming, MN, until 1947 when they moved to Rush City to live and work on the farm. Clem and Arlene raised their eight children there. They lived there until 1976 then moved to Beroun, MN, where they lived for four years. Clem and Arlene then moved to a place on the Government Road and lived there until buying a house in town by the fairgrounds in 1989. Clem and Arlene were married 63 years.
Arlene loved being an active person. She was a member of Living Hope Christian Center for 45 years and was a member of the Pine City Singers for 31 years. Arlene delivered Meals on Wheels for 10 years and received a plaque from the governor for her volunteer time.
Arlene enjoyed going to Mother's Camp every year. She loved her family, friends, and everyone in between. Arlene cherished babysitting her grandchildren and made sure everyone had food to eat or a place to stay. Everyone knew how she loved riding her bike.
Arlene loved to travel with her family. She has been to Colorado, Wyoming, California, Washington, Illinois, Missouri, Arizona, New Mexico, Utah, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana and Texas (which was her favorite for some reason).
Arlene is survived by her children, Loretta Giesler, of Pine City, MN, Larry Wiberg, of East Bethel, MN, Cathy Walter, of Towner, ND, Chris Wiberg, of Pine City, MN, Brian Wiberg (Rita), of Pine City, MN, David Wiberg (Roxy), of Pine City, MN, Theresa Wiberg (Gary), of Englewood, CO; sisters in law, Dorthey Olsen, of Mora, MN, Donna Olsen, of FL, Lee Olsen, of WA; 30 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; 12 great great grandchildren.
Arlene was preceded in death by her husband, Clem; parents, Einer and Ruth Olsen; brothers, Virgil Olsen, Thorvald Olsen, Douglas Olsen, Howard Olsen, Lyle Olsen, Clifford Olsen, Milton Olsen; sisters, Sylvia Mead, Dolores Stabenow, Lucille Mclllharge, Agnes Kinder, Vivian Seth, Leola Olsen; daughter, Ruth Scmugge.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Living Hope Christian Center on September 4, 2026, at 11:30am with a visitation beginning at 11am. A luncheon will follow the service.
