

Andris Liepins (Andy) of Saint Paul, MN, passed away on October 27th, 2022, at the age of 84. He was born on February 19th, 1938, in Riga, Latvia. He lived in Minnesota much of his life and raised his family here. He worked for Oldsmobile/General Motors and the automotive industry, eventually becoming a partial owner in a car dealership until his retirement in 2002. He was actively involved in the McGregor, MN American Legion and the Up North Riders ATV club of Aitkin County, MN. McGregor and Big Sandy Lake was their dream home and community. They made so many friends and enjoyed their retirement life.
Andy is preceded in death by his parents, Antonija (Cirulis) and Aleksandrs Liepins; brother, Valdis Liepins; sister, Zinta Liepins.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra (Hebrew) Liepins; five children, Mark Liepins, Douglas Liepins, Lisa (Erik) Moe, William (Pam) Plummer, Sandra (Tony) Dischinger; ten grandchildren, Aleksandrs (Regina) Liepins, Catherine (Mykhaylo) Panchishak, Tanya (Ben) Johnson, Alec Moe, Miranda Liepins, Tatum, Kaitlynn, Harley and Jeremy Plummer, Leia Dischinger; four great-grandchildren, Oak and Lev Panchishak, Kendra Liepins, Baby Girl Johnson (coming soon); sister and brother-in-law, Bette (Mike) Murray, brother-in-law, Richard Wolf; and many friends locally and in McGregor, MN area.
The family would like to thank the entire staff at the Wellington Senior Living Community, Our Lady of Peace Hospice Services and Symphony Senior Home Care and his doctors and nurses for the care and compassion they showed Andy in his final days.
In place of a service, family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life event for Andy at Bunny’s Bar & Grill (back bar) at 5916 Excelsior Blvd., St. Louis Park, MN 55416. All are welcome to stop by on Tuesday, November 22nd, from 2-5 pm. “Come have a beer and some wings with Andy.” Please share a story, make a toast or visit with friends in his honor. This May, there will also be a celebration in McGregor, MN, for family and friends. Those details are yet to be determined.
