Roni was born June 9th, 1939 in Bell Township, PA to the late Paul and Alice (Sabo) Spelock. She graduated in 1957 from Washington Township High School and during that time met her husband, Francis Lee Hick. They married in October 1958, and remained married until his passing in 2009. Together, they raised two daughters, Jody L Hick-Yunetz of Latrobe, PA and Dana Porterfield who took exceptional care of their mother and resided with her.
Roni began her career working for Gulf Research in Pittsburgh and then moved with her husband and family to Warren, OH. There she continued her profession working for Ravenna Arsenal and the Trumbull County Prosecutors Office. In 1977, the opportunity arose to relocate their family to Latrobe, PA where she became part owner of The Petite Boutique in the city of Greensburg. Roni and Fran resettled for their final time in Bradenton, Florida where they became the proprietors of Key Cleaners and Linen Service on Longboat Key from 1989 until their retirement. Roni was also a passionate golfer and enjoyed the sport with Fran and her friends at EWGA golf league.
In addition to her daughters, Roni is survived by her sister, Judith (Joe) Cameron of Bradenton Fl. Her grandchildren, Jessica (Jared) Sandusky of Greensburg, PA, Jaime (Tony) Lonigro of Latrobe, PA, Sarah Porterfield of Sarasota, FL and Clifford (Bud) Porterfield of Bradenton, FL. She was also blessed with five great-grandchildren. Evan and Jax Sandusky and Norah, Clara and Dante Lonigro.
