Scott Theodore Evenson, 64, died peacefully in his home in Fort Myers, Florida after battling with heart failure. Born May 8, 1953 to Walter and Virginia (nee Deuble) Evenson, Scott was raised in Avon Lake, Ohio. He enlisted in the Navy in 1971 and served in such places as Greece, Bahrain, and Washington DC, as a deep-sea diver and an armed forces police officer. After leaving the service in 1981, he came to Fort Myers and started a boat salvage and cleaning business. On the recommendation of a friend, Scott went into the mortgage business in 1983, and eventually opened his own brokerage firm in 1985. He operated Lee-Co Mortgage of Cape Coral until 2015.
Scott met and married his first wife Meg (nee Hanek) when he first moved to Fort Myers. They had 2 children, John and Saheli. They were married 27 years before her death in 2010. Scott married Fleda Goddard (nee Minzey) in 2015.
Scott was preceded in death by his parents and first wife, Meg.
Scott is survived by 3 younger brothers: Mark (Carole), Tom, and Kurt (Sheri); his son John and daughter Saheli (“Sallie”); his wife, Fleda; and step-daughters Julia, Sharon, Rebekah, and Jessica.
Scott was best known for his friendly disposition and humor.
