Scott was born in Troy, Ohio, and graduated from Covington High School in 1981. Scott spent 40 years in the automotive industry, working at Paul Sherry Chevrolet & RV’s in Piqua, Ohio, first as a salesman, then as the Sales Manager, and ultimately the General Manager. He also worked at Dave Arbogast RV’s in Troy, Ohio and McKeever RV’s in Sweetwater, Tennessee as their General Sales Manager. In September 2024, Scott was lucky enough to be able to get his dream job working for Forest River RV’s as a factory representative for their Wildcat RV line.
Scott was preceded in death by his parents Gene & Marilyn (Heiler) Dohme from Piqua, Ohio. He is survived and missed terribly by his loving wife Michelle Dohme (Meyer) of 11 years and his children Sierra Grubaugh, her husband Tommy, Grandsons Hendrix and Parker, and Granddaughter, Cecilia of Inman, South Carolina, Brayden Dohme and his wife Tiarra Dohme of Cape Coral, Florida, and Chase Dohme of Tipp City, Ohio, as well as his two step-children, Kyle Rockwell and his husband, Joey Kitchen of Loa Angeles California, and Amanda Rockwell, of Knoxville, Tennessee, sister Melissa (Guy) Kommer and their son Kyler of Piqua, Ohio, as well as members of his extended family in Versailles, Ohio.
Scott will be remembered by his friends and family as kind, generous, funny, loyal, honest, and hard-working. He always had a smile on his face, his laughter was infectious, and his love for his family and friends had no boundaries. His favorite ways to spend his free time were to spend a summer afternoon boating on Ft Loudon Lake, watching his beloved Tennessee Volunteers on the back patio while having a campfire, and spending time with his friends and family. Scott loved his wife, children, and stepchildren with his whole heart and absolutely adored his grandchildren Hendrix, Parker, and Cecila. When talking about those children, his whole face would light up and there was a special sparkle in his eye. Scott was always the life of the party, and we will miss his animated spirit as he would tell one of his “stories.” Saturday afternoons during the summer were spent cruising the lake on the boat and were filled with love and laughter, as Scott the Captain drove the boat, except for when he had to take a break from driving to dance or perform air guitar to a Bon Jovi or Van Halen song on the stereo. Hendrix, Parker, and Cecilia all took a turn driving the boat with Papaw, and their smiles were so bright they would light up a room.
Scott’s family will be hosting a Celebration of Scott’s life on April 5, 2025 from 1pm-5pm at 742 South Center Street, Versailles, Ohio, 45380.
