Sally McAllister Reich, 74, passed peacefully in Sarasota, FL, January 11, 2017. She is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Roland "Rollie" Reich, a daughter, Susan McDonough (Kevin), a son, Philip Reich (Holly), twin sister, Susan LaGraff (John), her older brother, Donald McAllister (Carroll), six grandchildren, Ian and Meghan McDonough, Andrew, Harrison, and Benjamin Hallet and Eli Reich, six nephews and nieces, and fifteen first cousins. She was born in Concord, Massachusetts and graduated from Troy (OH) High School. She graduated from Ohio University with a BA degree in Psychology where she earned varsity letters in tennis and basketball. She worked to better the lives of disadvantaged children at three organizations, Athens County Ohio Children's Services, Shawen Acres Children's Home in Dayton, Ohio, and was a member of the charter staff that opened the Evansville, Indiana Psychiatric Children's Center in 1966. She was a member of the Evansville Indiana Junior League and Psi Iota Xi women's philanthropic sorority. After taking time off to raise her children, she re-entered the work force in computer services. She was an enthusiastic and accomplished golfer, winning four women's Club Championships at Sportsman Country Club in Northbrook, IL (1) and Deerfield Golf Club in Deerfield, IL (3). She is a past president of the Our Lady of the Brook Women's Golf League at Sportsman Country Club and was a long-time club representative for the Chicago Inter-Suburban Women's Team Play Golf League. She loved her family and family gatherings in her adopted home of Sarasota. Exhibiting her enthusiasm for golf and her characteristic good humor, she frequently said "look for me in the right rough". In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Western Pennsylvania School for the Deaf.
