Rosemary Reisinger, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, was born to eternal life at the age of 96 in Naples, Florida on May 3, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of faith, strength, love, and countless treasured memories. Born to the late William J. and Agnes (MacTaggart) Connolly, Rosemary lived a life full of travel, laughter, and devotion to her family.
Rosemary was the heart of her family, the cherished wife of Richard A. Reisinger and a devoted mother to Peggy, Richard, Kat, and Paul, and a treasured grandmother to her twelve grandchildren: Joe, John, Sarah, Meagan, Paul, Gianna, Jessica, Richard, Samantha, Joe, Emily, and Katelin. Her home was a haven where her grandchildren gathered to hear her captivating stories—tales of her youth, adventures, jobs as a pediatric nurse and a secretary, and the wisdom she so generously shared: each story woven with love and humor, and an unforgettable Scottish accent that will live on in their hearts.
Predeceased by her siblings, John Connolly of Cheyenne, WY, David Connolly and his wife Jackie of St. Louis, MO, and Betty Herrling and her husband David of Rehoboth, DE, but is survived by John’s wife, Eileen, Rosemary carried the spirit of her family forward with strength and joy. Her adventurous life took her to places near and far, each journey adding to her collection of stories. At home on Marco Island, she found comfort in lovingly crocheting personalized blankets for her family which will be treasured always. She enjoyed reading and watching old movies (especially cowboy shows), Fulton Sheen, and EWTN. She loved spending quality time with her children, grandchildren, husband of sixty-two years, and beloved dog Charlie.
Her deep rooted and unwavering faith and sense of humor touched her family and friends and carried her through life. Her legacy is summed up in her own words which she shared often, “I’ve had such a wonderful life and am so grateful to God.”
A Requiem Mass will be celebrated to honor Rosemary’s life, at San Marco Catholic Church on Friday, May 16, at 10AM. Rosemary’s memory will forever be a blessing to all who knew her, a reminder to live with love, lead with strength, and never stop sharing stories with the ones you love - just as she did.
Her family suggests, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to World Villages for Children (online at worldvillages.org) providing food, shelter, medical care, and education to children living in poverty, or to St Vincent de Paul Society San Marco Conference (mail a check to PO Box 975, Marco Island, FL 34146) providing food to two local farming communities and to veterans.
