Robert Wilbert Kelly

Robert W. Kelly, beloved husband and soulmate of Barbara (Corbridge) Kelly of Bradenton, FL, passed away on May 11, 2018 at the age of 81 years. Bob was born July 24, 1936 in Birch River, WestVirginia, son of the late Wilbert W. and Jennett (Loving) Kelly.

Shortly after graduating from high school in Elkton, MD, Bob joined the US Navy, and proudly served his country as an aviation technician for 20 years, including 4 tours of duty to Antarctica. He later held positions in maintenance management as a civilian before his retirement. After his retirement, Bob enjoyed woodworking, travel (especially cruising for pleasure and visiting his family, up the East Coast) and fishing.

He was survived by his Children, Cheryl Lynn Kelly-Bates (Calvin) and Robert W. Kelly, Jr (Renee) of Virginia, Thomas Cahill, III of RI and Timothy Cahill of PA; Grandsons, Jonathan Kelly and Calvin M. Bates; Sisters, Virginia Biles(Giff) and Mardell Barrett; and so many more extended family and friends who loved him dearly. He was pre-deceased by his first wife, Arlene H. (Cahill) Kelly and sisters Mildred Cook and Louise Reynolds.

A service has been set for July 24, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the Sarasota National Cemetery, Sarasota, FL
