Robert (Bob, Bobby) Reynald Bineau passed away unexpectedly of natural causes on November 16, 2024, at the NCH North Hospital in Naples Florida at the age of 73. He was born in Biddeford, Maine, on August 26, 1951, and graduated from St. Louis High School in 1970.
In 1970, Bob enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he served honorably for 20 years. He worked as an aircrew life support specialist for over 18 years and served as a First Sergeant for nearly two years. He furthered his education in counseling at Wichita State University and in survival and rescue at the Community College of the Air Force. Bob retired in 1990 as a First Sergeant, with the rank of Master Sergeant. His service to his country was a testament to his dedication and commitment.
After his retirement from the Air Force, Bob began a new chapter working at Meijer, where he spent many years in the meat department, eventually retiring as the department manager in 2011. In his retirement, Bob embraced a life of travel, often spending time in his motorhome, enjoying the best of both Michigan summers and Florida winters. He cherished these moments with his family and took great pride in caring for them. One of Bob’s most favorite roles after retiring was becoming one of Santa’s helpers, where he grew a real white beard to bring even more authenticity to the holiday spirit.
Bob is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Diana Bineau (Strang); his devoted mother, Theresa Bineau (Collard); his loving children, Katryna Finney (Rich), Shawn Bineau (Amy), Ryan Bineau (Natasha), and Jonathan Bineau (Pia); and his cherished grandchildren, Morgan Dubey, Mackenzie Dubey, Kennedi Dubey, Taylor Finney, Stephanie Bineau, Isabelle Bennett (Aaron), Melanie Bineau, Melissa Bineau, Milton Bineau, Kayla Bineau, Lilija Bineau, Sebastien Bineau, and Luna Bineau. He was predeceased by his father, Robert Bineau, and his sister, Carol Bineau.
Bob’s love for his family knew no bounds. He would do anything for them, and his grandchildren were the light of his life. He was loved deeply and will be missed by all who knew him. We will carry him in our hearts forever.
A memorial service to celebrate Bob’s life will be held on December 16, 2024, at Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Road, Holly, MI, at 11 am.
