Richard M. Fowler passed away peacefully on May 19, 2023, with his loving wife by his side. His death occurred at age 73 after a brief illness. Rick was born in Toledo, Ohio on January 23, 1950.
Rick is survived by his wife of 50 years, Patricia A. (Marinelli) Fowler; sister, Diane (Fowler) Jackman, many sisters in law, brothers in law, nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Joan (Jokel) Fowler and John Edward Fowler. He also had two loving golden retrievers, Alli and Terre.
Rick was an avid bowler while in Toledo and a Toledo Blade Classic bowler for many years. He sailboat raced for many years and was a member of North Cape Yacht Club. He became an avid golfer and had hole in ones in three different cities; Cincinnati, Ohio, Portland, Oregon and Fort Myers, Florida. He cheered on the Michigan Wolverines football team as a season ticket holder for over 30 years.
He was a supportive husband moving four times for Pat’s career: Cincinnati, Ohio in 1992, Mission Viejo, California in 1998, Portland, Oregon in 1999 and Boston, Massachusetts in 2016. They retired in 2017 to Fort Myers, Florida.
He attended St. Francis De Sales High School and University of Toledo. He worked at Gross Electric and Fowler Electric, his father’s company. He loved to tinker with wood, lighting and landscaping.
Charitable donations can be made to the Humane Society.
A Celebration of Life open house will be held on Saturday, June 3rd from 1:00 to 4:00 at St. Clement’s Hall, 2990 Tremainsville Road, Toledo, Ohio.
