After receiving his B.S. degree from Georgetown University in 1963, and a DDS degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 1967, Richard worked as a dentist in Washington, D.C. and Buffalo, NY. He later moved to the Eastern shore of Virginia where he owned and operated a B&B and a cafe. He then moved to Norfolk, VA before fully retiring to Naples, Florida. There he continued to enjoy gardening, cooking, entertaining, and dining out with his Saturday night “crew” Julie, Janice and others who completed his large group of friends. Richard also enjoyed ushering at local community theaters and attending concerts and art exhibits.
He was preceded in death by his parents Jesse and Irene Caden.
He is survived by his sister Margi Wolfson (Ray), his nephews Jeff Wolfson (Mia Kim) & Michael Wolfson (Rehana Gubin), and Rebecca, Joshua and Max (great niece and nephews), his faithful and loving dog, Emma. Also survived by his son and 2 grandchildren.
The family would like to thank NCH and Avow Hospice Center for the care and compassion they showed Richard in his final days.
There will be a celebration of life at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Richard’s memory to Avow Hospice Center of Naples or The Conservancy of Southwest Florida, located in Naples.
