Ralph Everett Dodd

Ralph Everett Dodd, age 90, died in Fort Myers, Florida on March 6, 2018 of cancer. Ralph was born May 22, 1927 in Wood River, Illinois to Merriman Augustus (M.A.) Dodd and Dana Lawrence Dodd. On May 16, 1944, he joined the Navy as a machinist mate in sea rescue. On the GI bill, he earned his Bachelor of Science in Floricuture from the University of Illinois. In 1986, Ralph retired from Shell Research and Development as a Lab Technician in Houston, Texas. He toured the world enjoying nature photography. Ralph is survived by his wife Jean Dodd, daughter Lisa Beever, sister Janet Fowler, step-daughters Melody Timm and Karen Hobbs, step-son Dan Lawton and best friend John Crochet. He is preceded in death by son Jeff Dodd, sisters Louise Higginbotham and Mildred Ballard, brother Earl Dodd and first wife Martha Dodd. No service is planned.
