A celebrated athlete Michael held numerous records at Cardinal Newman in Santa Rosa especially in Basketball. Known affectionately as "Red" by many of his friends, he embraced challenges with determination and a positive Spirit.
Throughout his career, Michael owned several glass shops, driven by his Passion for glasswork.
Michael relocated to Santa Cruz, California where he discovered his love for The Sea, living on his boat, and learning to sail from his Greek friend, Chris Chrones. His passion for sailing and fishing blossomed further after moving to Florida with his beloved wife Patty, where they lived for 17 years.
Michael cherished the friendships he built over the years and often reflected on how much they meant to him.
He is predeceased by his parents Phillip and Marian Lininger, his sister Ann, his Uncle Stephen King, his Uncle Gore and Auntie Bea Lurch and his nephew Christian.
Surviving him are his devoted wife of 25 years, Patty and his children Kyra, Shannan, Sean, Chad and stepson Adam. He leaves behind his grandchildren Kiarah, Kelis, Adden, Adonis, Arthur Ill, Christopher, Ahraya, Jayden, Roman, Amelia, Quinn, Alisha and Jordan, nephews Philip and Marcus.
Michael's life was full of Love, Adventure and a Legacy he proudly leaves with his family.
