Mary Esther Drake Wahl, 99, a longtime resident of Naples died February 24, 2018. Born in Indiana, resident of Illinois, missionary in China and Malaysia, she and her family moved to Naples in 1970. Mary was a teacher from a one room schoolhouse to High School English and a Director of Plays to a special Ed teacher at Bonita Springs Elementary. As the daughter and later wife of a United Methodist minister, Mary was an active member of First United Methodist Church in Naples. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard C. Wahl. She is survived by her 4 children: Ruth Wahl of Naples, Richard (Sandy) Wahl of Liberty Hill, TX, Roger (Mildred) Wahl of Naples, and Robin (Ronald Soulard) Wahl of Naples. Grand children: Robert C. Wahl of Naples, Bernard J. (Stephanie) Wahl of Odessa, TX, Richard K. (Melissa) Wahl of Tampa, FL, Kathryn (Brandon) Waszak of Navasota, TX, Carolyn (Peter) Morowski of Dickinson, ND, Michael Wahl of Naples. Great Grandchildren: Thomas Wahl, Abigail Wahl, Norah Wahl, Evelyn Wahl, Peter Morowski, and Zoey Morowski. Siblings: Patricia Mewborn of Naples, Charles Drake of Naples, and Edward (Sandra) Drake of Lake Placid, FL. Sister-in-Law: Mimi Drake of Waukegan, Illinois. And numerous nieces and nephews plus great and grand nephews & nieces. Mary enjoyed being part of a large family and loved them all. No services are planned at this time.
