Keith Gale Black, 78 of Bonita Springs Florida passed away peacefully on Sunday June 4, 2017. His final days were spent surrounded by his loving wife, family, and close friends. Keith was born May 31, 1939 in Elvins, Missouri to Ralph and Helen (Burch) Black, He attended Elvins High School. He continued his education at South East Missouri State University. Followed by the University of Missouri Columbia (Mizzou) receiving his Master's Degree. He played basketball and baseball while in high school and college. Keith taught in the Parkway School District for most of his 30 year career. He most enjoyed coaching (his first love) which included: Boys Baseball, Boys Basketball, Boys Tennis, Girls Basketball and Girls Tennis. Before retiring, he spent several years as Athletic Director at Parkway North High School. Keith enjoyed fishing any chance he could. His favorite places included Canada, Lake Sherwood, and Lake Innsbrook. He started and taught an angling class at Parkway North High School. Most of his time was spent playing tennis, playing cards, reading, talking and telling stories, and spending time with family and friends. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Bonita Springs. He is survived by his loving wife Rosemary of 54 years, brother Mike (Cindy) sister-in-law Nancy Black, Dearest father of Scott and Deanna (Charles) Sheriff. Grandfather of: Bill, Colleen (Todd) Masin, Kristen (Joe) Brewer, Jacob, and Samantha. Great grandfather to Payton and Barrett. Brother-in-law to Faye (Gary), Jim, John (Pat), Daryl, Larry Sr. and countless nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Preceded in death by father Ralph, mother Helen, and brother Kenneth Black. A memorial service will be held at First Presbyterian Church, 9751 Bonita Beach Road, Bonita Springs, Florida 34135. On Saturday June 24th at 11:00 A.M. in the Center Point Chapel (on site), Luncheon immediately following in McClure Hall (on site), Nearest airport is Fort Myers Florida (RSW) Family and friends unable to attend the memorial service in Florida, we will have a "Celebration of Life" luncheon in Ballwin Missouri. Location will be: The Pointe in Ballwin Commons, 1 Ballwin Commons Circle, Ballwin, MO 63021. On Sunday July 16th at 1:30 P.M. in the Large Meeting Room. This will be a casual event to gather and share fond memories in honor of Keith. In lieu of flowers a memorial donation may be given to a charity close to Keith's heart: Compassion International, 12290 Voyager Parkway, Colorado Springs, CO 80997-0004 A special heart felt thank to all of his friends for their phone calls, visits, prayers, and expressions of love.
