Karl W. Cook, Jr. (95) – of Bradenton, Florida has gone home to his Lord and Savior on December 12, 2018. Born November 9, 1923 in Onset, Massachusetts to the late Karl W. Cook, Sr. and Hazel (Boucher) Cook. Brother of the late Donald H. Cook and Karl’s first wife, the late Alice (Crowley) Cook, all from Attleboro, Massachusetts.
Karl leaves his son Brian Cook (Susan), of Manchester, NH and granddaughters Ashley of Manchester, NH, and Carly of Nashville, TN.
He also leaves his wife, Phyllis (Rasch) Cook and stepchildren Ellen Cito (Paul) of W. Orange, NJ, Stephen Rasch (Christine) of Plymouth, MA, Lorraine Messier (Michael) of Rehoboth, MA, Diane DeBenedict (Frank) of Franklin, MA, five step-grandchildren: Melissa, Danielle, Jonathan, Gabriel & Callie, and one great-grandchild, Lena.
Karl served 3 years in the Army during WW2. He was educated in Attleboro, Ma schools and received a BA at Northeastern University in Engineering and Management. He worked for the former Mass Electric in management for 38 years.
Karl was a life member (60 years) of the Attleboro Elks, and served the Attleboro Rotary Club for 25 years where he was honored as a Paul Harris Fellow.
Karl spent several years with the South Weymouth and Attleboro youth programs, including being a founding officer in the Bristol County Hockey Association.
He enjoyed all sports especially golf. Karl and Phyllis spent 11 years traveling from Ma to Bradenton, FL and 14 years as permanent residents there.
A Celebration of Life service will be held February 2, 2019 at West Bradenton Baptist Church at 11:00 AM
