Joseph (Joe) Toth, longtime resident of Cape Coral, FL, age 92, passed away peacefully on March 15, 2025. Born on June 4, 1932, in Prigrevica (Batschsentiwan, in the former Yugoslavia). In 1947 Joe, his parents, and brother fled the former Yugoslavia to Graz, Austria, and was a refugee there prior to immigrating to the US in 1952 and settling in Chicago, IL. Joe was drafted into the US Army, served his country, and was honorably discharged. He became a US citizen in 1957 and started his own window washing and handyman business.
Joe loved nature, gardening, hunting, beekeeping, learning foreign languages, reading and was a great storyteller. He spent many summers traveling with his family to the Badlands and Yellowstone National Park and enjoyed camping outdoors.
Joe is survived by his wife of 52 years, Elisabeth, and their daughter Terry (Kamil) Gamal ElDin, his former spouse Maria, their sons Alex and Joe, his beloved grandson Justin, his brother Tony (Marcy), nephew Tom and niece Laura. He also leaves behind his stepchildren (Ed Speth, Frank (Cindy) Speth, and Heide (Jerry) Anderson and step-grandchildren, Kinzie, Kameron, Lauren, Nico, Edi, Karl, Katie, Melissa, Whitney, Alison, Jerry, and Eric. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Michael.
Memorial service will be private.
