He leaves a beloved wife Gertrude Bourque (Trudy), a sister Phyllis Gagnier (Arizona), a sister-in-law Janet Gagnier in Saratoga Springs, N.Y, a brother-in-law in Quebec named Borromée Bourque. Garth, his younger brother passed away May 3nd, 2020. He also leaves many nieces and nephews.
Joseph was ordained a priest in 1958 in the diocese of Ogdensburg, N.Y., where he ministered for 20 years. He married and moved to Syracuse, N.Y. where he worked for New York State office of Mental and Developmental Disabilities.
He retired and moved to Naples, Florida. He spent 20 years volunteering for Naples Zoo, The Botanical Garden, Wiggins Pass and North Naples Hospital. Joe was also involved with the Jamaica Outreach Program with St-John the Evangelist Church.
He will be miss by many. He was a sunshine.
