He was born on January 5th, 1957 in Fall River, Massachusetts, and was the cherished son of Wilma White (Smith) and Ronald Mandel. Jeffrey was a devoted spouse, parent, brother, and dear friend to many.
Throughout his career, Jeffrey Mandel worked as a network manager for Moore Data Management in San Diego, CA, before retiring in Fort Myers, Florida, in 2015. He was not only dedicated to his professional work but also had a passion for assisting men in recovering from addiction and was actively participating in the recovery community until his passing. Jeffrey found solace in activities such as fishing, kayaking, exploring the wildlife of Captiva and Sanibel islands, spending quality time with his dogs, watching baseball, and being an avid New York Yankees fan. While he enjoyed traveling, his greatest joy came from being in the company of his children and grandchildren. He treasured his family, the holidays, and social gatherings.
Known for his sense of humor, creative storytelling, and sage advice, Jeffrey Mandel had a charm and charisma that allowed him to form lifelong friendships. He possessed an unwavering ability to support his family and friends through challenging times. Jeff was the person you could rely on day or night for guidance or a good laugh. He established deep connections with those fortunate enough to know him and treated them as if they were his own family.
Jeffrey is survived by his mother, Wilma White; his beloved wife, Cindi Mandel; his children, Nicole Mandel, Jeffery Mandel, Tyler Mandel, and Tori Mandel (Sanders); as well as his sons' and daughters-in-law and his grandchildren, Isabella, Freya, and Lucia. He is also survived by his two sisters, Elizabeth Mandel-Carson and Marci Mandel-Lach. Jeffrey was predeceased by his older brother, Gary Mandel, and his father, Ronald Mandel.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Jeffrey's friends, the doctors at In-Tune Health, Health Park Hospital in Fort Myers, Tampa General Hospital, and the staff at Hope Hospice House for their constant support during his final days.
Jeffrey Mandel's presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May we find solace in the knowledge that his spirit will endure through the memories we have shared and the love he has left behind.
A Celebration of Life will be held in San Diego in July 2023, with another gathering scheduled in Rhode Island at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Clinic for the Rehabilitation of Wildlife (CROW) on Sanibel Island.
