Born on January 30, 1926, in Moline, Illinois, Harvey grew up in the heart of the Midwest, where he forged lifelong friendships and cultivated a strong work ethic. His early years were marked by a love of adventure, which would become a hallmark of his life.
In his early adulthood, Harvey answered the call of duty and proudly served his country for two years in the military. He demonstrated unwavering dedication and valor during his service, earning the respect and admiration of his fellow servicemen.
Upon returning from his military service, Harvey's life took a beautiful turn when he met the love of his life, Norma Reimers. Their love story was one for the ages, and they embarked on a lifelong journey together, bound by love, trust, and unwavering support for one another.
Harvey and Norma were blessed with two beautiful daughters, Barbara and Susan, and he embraced fatherhood with open arms. He was an active father, sharing his love for adventure with his young family. Camping, fencing, archery, and exploring the great outdoors. Golfing became a cherished pastime.
In addition to his love for the outdoors and golf, Harvey was a talented woodworker and painter. He poured his creativity into every piece he crafted, leaving behind a legacy of beautifully crafted wooden treasures and art that will be cherished by his family for generations to come.
Harvey had a voracious appetite for knowledge and was an avid reader. He could often be found with a pipe hanging out of his mouth and a book in his hand, diving into worlds of adventure, history, and imagination.
Known for his good looks, Harvey's humble and generous nature endeared him to friends and neighbors alike. He had a way of making everyone feel welcome and valued. His kindness was a shining example of the goodness that exists in the world.
Harvey C. Reimers Jr. leaves behind a loving family, including his late wife Norma, daughters Barbara and Susan, five grandchildren and six adored great-grandchildren, who will carry forward the legacy of love and adventure that he instilled in them.
