Born in East Brunswick, New Jersey, Harry distinguished himself early, graduating as valedictorian from East Brunswick High School. He went on to attend Rutgers University, where he completed both his undergraduate and graduate studies and earned a PhD in Ceramic Engineering. His dedication to service led him to spend eight years in the Army Reserves. Professionally, Harry built a respected career spanning more than 30 years in the glass technology industry, where his expertise and dependability made a lasting impact.
In retirement, Harry combined his love of sports and community by serving as an usher for Colorado Rockies games—an experience he treasured as much for the camaraderie as for the game itself.
Harry embraced life fully. He enjoyed tennis, puzzles and cards, hiking, travel, and sports of all kinds. Above all, he was known for his deep love of family, his enthusiasm for life, and the steady kindness and integrity that defined his character.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Marilyn; his daughter Cristina and her husband Michael Dean of Orlando; his daughter Valerie and her husband Damon Groves of Toronto, Ontario, along with grandsons Derek and Oscar Groves; his sisters Mimi Russell of Wyoming, Michigan, and Sara Russell of Denver, Colorado; and his cherished companions, Maisie the dog and Roxie the cat.
He was preceded in death by his sister Priscilla Russell and his brother David Russell.
Harry will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose warmth, dependability, and generous spirit touched all who knew him.
