Hannah Libby Gallagher passed away peacefully in her sleep on April 5th, 2025 at the age of 87 in Bradenton, Florida. She was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on August 25, 1937 to Pearl and Jacob Fox.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her siblings: Izzy, Paul, Don, and Mae; and her husband of 56 years, John (Jack) Gallagher.
She is survived by her children: Edward (Anette Schuster) Gallagher, Deborah Koerber, and Roseanne (Earl) de Jonge; Grandchildren, Evan, Sean (Wynne), Stephanie (Will), Jaclyn (Josh), Katrina, Jon, Joshua (Rachel), Mackenzie (Chad), and Madison (Trevor); 9 great-grandchildren; Sisters: Gertrude and Fay; and many nieces and nephews along with their children and grandchildren.
Hannah graduated from Bartram High School and dedicated her time to raising a family in Philadelphia before moving to San Diego where she worked as a bank teller, and then retiring to Cape Coral, Florida.
Hannah enjoyed crocheting, gardening, and snuggling with her dog, Mia. She loved Pooh Bear, decorating for holidays, and was an avid reader. She always liked to keep busy and be social, she enjoyed many cross-country road trips, was a member and Vice Bee of the Red Hat Society, participated in a bowling league, loved to play cards and bingo, attend events at the senior center, play board games, and spend time with her large family.
Whether you knew her as Grammy, Aunt Hannah, Mom, Hannah Banana, or just Hannah, you always knew you had someone in your corner with her in your life. She loved her family fiercely. She loved spending time with her grandkids and great-grandkids and always held a special place in her heart for her nieces and nephews.
She will be deeply missed by those who had the privilege of knowing her. May we find peace knowing she is reunited with loved ones passed.
