Gerald Louis Governile

Gerald L. “Jerry” Governile, 84 passed away peacefully on January 11 at Tidewell Hospice in Sarasota Fl. Loving husband of 29 years to, Anne, nee Daughan; proud father of his children Patricia (Alan) DuFresne and David (Wendy) Governile; grandfather of Charlotte and Timothy DuFresne and Jacob Governile; caring brother of Janet (William) Balla.

Jerry grew up in Chicago, served in the Marine Corp, an alum of Loyola University and The University of Chicago Graduate School of Business. He had a successful career with Arthur Andersen and Wallace Computer Services in Chicago. He retired as President of ECRM Co in Tewksbury MA.

Jerry liked sports, even to the last he recalled fond memories of playing sandlot baseball with “the guys” after school. He followed Loyola basketball, the Cubs and the Red Sox. He became an enthusiastic bike rider enjoying cycling trips in France, Ireland and Italy. Retired, he and Anne moved in 2000 to University Park CC. Jerry played tennis and golf and volunteered to manage the neighborhood finances. In 2017 we moved to Village Walk and he looked forward to his “almost” daily gym workouts. Jerry was a gentleman, quick to find humor and ready with a smile.

A Celebration of Life is planned for later this year in Massachusetts.
