Fred was born on August 16, 1950, in Quincy, Massachusetts, where he grew up surrounded by his nine siblings.
He built a long and successful career as a Sales Manager with Merit Oil, where he worked for more than 30 years.
A lifelong sports fan, Fred was especially devoted to the New England Patriots and was a proud season ticket holder. He also loved cheering on all of the Boston sports teams. One of his favorite memories was traveling to New Orleans with friends to attend the Super Bowl and celebrate a Patriots victory—a treasured experience he remembered fondly.
Fred was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Helen Howard. Together, Fred and Helen shared a love of travel and enjoyed exploring different countries and creating memories along the way.
Fred leaves behind his two daughters, Kimberly McLellan and her husband, Michael, and Dawn Harbeck; his four grandchildren, Matthew McLellan, Camden McLellan and his wife, Olivia, Dylan Harbeck, and Rachel Harbeck; and his two great-grandchildren, Emmett and Rosemary. To his family, he was lovingly known as Pa.
Fred will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his love of sports, his adventurous spirit, and the many memories he created with those closest to him. His presence will be deeply missed, but the love and memories he leaves behind will remain with his family and friends.
The family will be holding a private memorial service.
