Emily (Amelia) Sciortino

Emily was born in Chicago. She was the daughter of Mary and Emil Beich. As a teenager, Emily pursued her dream to learn to fly a plane. She attended Wright Junior College and then the University of Illinois where she majored in chemistry. She married Nicholas Sciortino on September 24, 1949. They welcomed five children into their family. Her life was devoted to her family. She enjoyed traveling around the US, Europe, and Hong Kong.

In later years, Emily lived in Longmont, CO and then moved to Venice, FL.

She is survived by her children Jacqueline (Carl Lowry), Michelle (Robert Parenti), and Michael. She was preceded in death by her husband, Nicholas, and her sons Joseph (22) and Vincent (54). She is also survived by her grandchildren Nicole (Dave) Knapp, Brian Kouzios, Erica Sciortino Andovich and Danielle Sciortino. She counted as her blessings her great-grandchildren: Michael, Reanna, and Xander Knapp, Hunter Andovich and Olivia Sciortino.

She is survived by many nieces and nephews. Her kindness, warm heart and beautiful smile will be missed by her family and friends.
