Elizabeth Burns-Silva
October 6, 1918 – January 31, 2019
Elizabeth Burns-Silva was born on October 6, 1918 in Temple, Texas (Bell County) the daughter of James William and Ethel Katheryn Burns. She retired from a 27-year teaching career, traveled throughout Central America and settled in Port Charlotte in the 1990’s with her then husband, Jose Antonio Silva who is now deceased.
Her reflection of that first day was..”Port Charlotte has grown and developed since we came. The trees all had yellow ribbons tied around them. Flags were lying like Arlington Cemetery. I asked, “Why all of this fuss?” The answer was, “it is a retirement area and we are still at war!” How were we to know coming from a Central American country all of this was going on?”
“I’m expecting a “CALL” from my Heavenly Father at any time to join my friends at His Heavenly Hotel. When the “CALL” comes, “I’ll be riding my scooter to Heaven”.
Before leaving I have some Earthly Angels I want to say goodbye to and tell them that “I LOVE THEM VERY MUCH!”
My son, Joe Carlos Silva and his wife, Sonia Tueros Silva; Maryann Stottmyer; Mary Thompson and Paul Cook; Joan and John Bipp; Jeanette and Charley Greene; Cindy Duncan; Lillian Aragones.
