On September 30, 2016, Eileen Whitesides made her exit from Planet Earth. Born in Kentucky, she was a resident of Nokomis, Florida for the past 15 years. Eileen was generous, helping out others who might never repay her. She was devoted to her late husband, and never stopped missing him after she was widowed. Eileen was an avid reader whose library included much of the finest Western literature; an appreciator of the natural world who was actively concerned for its future; and an unfailing friend to her family and others. She will be greatly missed. She is survived by her two sisters: Janet Whitesides in Carrboro, NC; and Kate Elder in Cox’s Creek, Kentucky; and many friends who loved her. May she rest in power and may the rest of us live in peace. Donations to The Nature Conservancy, http://nature.org/, may be made in her honor.
