Dorothy Jean Sanktjohanser

She was born on March 12, 1931, on the second floor of the Overpeck Railroad Station in Ohio, to Henry Sanford and Eithel Lewis.

Dorothy graduated from O.R. Edgington High School in Englewood, Ohio, in 1949 and continued her education through numerous college courses over the years. She devoted much of her life to raising her children before retiring to Florida.

Dorothy was known for her adventurous spirit, independence, and her ability to make friends wherever she went. She had a deep love of learning and spent her time enjoying music, exploring different cultures, baking, traveling, writing, dancing, and continuing her education throughout her life.

She is survived by her daughter, Peggy (David) Brandenburg of West Milton, Ohio; her son, Ludwig Sanktjohanser of Germany; and her daughter-in-law, Audrey (Michael) Stonerock of Punta Gorda, Florida. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Michelle (Mark) Diffenderfer, Aaron (Lawanda) Stonerock, Johanna (Tracey) Culbertson, Matthew Macke, Heidi (Quentin) Tipton, Angela (James) Johannes, Carol (Jim) Ogletree, Bill Gross, and Herb (Brenda) Gross along with numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her son, Michael (Audrey) Stonerock; her siblings, Alvin Lewis, Alice Thornton, George Lewis, and Ella Mae Schindler; her grandson, Joshua Seeber; and her former husbands, Fred Sanktjohanser and Donald Stonerock.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date in Dayton, Ohio.
