Donald (Don) Louis Uva of Estero, Florida passed away following complications from a heart attack on January 9th 2025. Don was born on March 26th, 1943 in Boston, and resided in Massachusetts where he lived most of his life, achieved great success in business and had countless beloved friends and family members.
Don is preceded in death by his mother, Mary (Good) Uva and father, Dominic Uva.
He is survived by his wife, Kathleen (Kate), whom he adored beyond words, as well as their four children: Scott Griffin, Jennifer Whitten (William Whitten), Donnie Uva and Ryan Griffin (Jason Neale), all of whom he was so proud and loved implicitly.
Don is also survived by his dear siblings: Louis Uva, Maureen Uva, Mary Anne Clarke and beloved grandchildren: David Whitten, Lindsey Zulferino and Shaun Griffin, in addition several nieces, nephews and Godchildren.
Beyond his accomplishments, Don was known for his immense kindness, loyalty, supportiveness, generosity, and compassion. He was genuinely interested in the well-being of others and was always there to lend a hand to those in need. He was a warm, loving, bright person; quick to laugh, advise whenever needed, and hug with his whole heart. Don’s countless acts of kindness touched the lives of so many. To know him was to love him, and the world was so incredibly fortunate to have had him. He will be terribly missed by his family and friends because he was truly exceptional and one of a kind.
Don was an intrepid traveler, avid adventurer, sports fan, boater, nature lover, animal lover (especially of his late Lucy); an enthusiast of life in general, and everything it had to offer.
A celebration of Don’s life will be held this summer, in Massachusetts.
