The spirit of Donald Lewis Felten soared as it released his spent body on January 19, 2025. His acute myeloid leukemia was unable to be controlled. He was at home with his wife, Kathryn (Tice) Felten, along with several of the children as he left. Along with his wife he is survived by children, Brain Felten, Kalamazoo, MI; Amy Felten Sherwood (Shane), Palmetto, FL; John Berridge (Karla), Middleburg, FL; Ellen Felten Lane (J. Garland), Simpsonville, SC; Jeffrey Berridge, Clayton, MO; eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Also surviving are 2 brothers, Loren Felten, Chatsworth, CA; and Paul Felten (Becki), Sarasota, FL; plus, many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was born in Bremen, IN, to Wilford and Marguerite (Snyder) Felten who predeceased him. He played basketball during his school years in Bremen and his college years in Indianapolis. With degrees from the University of Indianapolis and Western Michigan, his career varied from teaching and coaching to trust banking. He had lived in various towns in Indiana while coaching, then while banking in New Haven, IN; Indianapolis, IN; Cincinnati, OH; Buffalo, NY; Columbus, OH; Green Cove Springs, FL; and Bradenton, FL.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. He was a kind and gentle man and dearly loved.
