Claudia Bender Foster, 78, of Naples, FL, died on September 24th, 2026, at Avow Hospice in Naples, FL. She was born in Franklin, Ohio on May 26th, 1948 to John and Bette Reznor, who preceded her in death.
Claudia was known for her big smile and infectious laugh. She was gracious in so many ways and each time someone met her, they felt as though they walked away from a new found, good friend. She cared deeply for others and was always interested in each person she knew, and what they had going on in their life. She was an avid reader and was knowledgeable on just about any subject brought her way. The subject at hand was generally followed by a detailed story of something everyone could relate to. Spending time with family, and friends is what she enjoyed most.
Claudia married Robert W. Bender on August 1st, 1970 in Middletown, OH. It was there where they raised their 4 children. They had many loving friends that were like family, to them. They entertained and showed an enormous amount of love to their children’s friends, who they cared for very much as if they were their own. Robert passed away in December, 1995 and Claudia began her journey of starting a whole new life.
On June 28th, 1997, Claudia married John Foster. Together they traveled extensively and enjoyed a quiet, happy life. They enjoyed spending time with their Church community, circle of friends and hosting family vacations. John and Claudia spent a lot of time reading together and could always be heard sharing a passage with one another. They loved each other very deeply.
Claudia is survived by her husband, John Foster; Daughter Barbie (Joseph) Zamoiski, Son, Jimmy (Amy) Bender, MaryBeth Bender and Amy Bender. 2 Grandchildren, Braydon and Megan Bender. Her sister Jeni (Robert) Oberle and 2 Nephews, Matthew and Andrew. As well as her niece, Lisa Fugate Giblin, who is the daughter of Claudia’s sister in law, Betty Bender Fugate. Julie Foster and Grandchild, Sabra Foster, Bill (Michelle) Foster and 2 Grandchildren Lila and Alexis and Nancy (Todd) Phelps.
A Celebration of Life will be held on October 10th, 2026 from 10:00 – 1:00 at The Holiday Inn West Chester @ 5800 Mulhauser Road, 45069.
There will be a funeral service in Marco Island, FL on November 7th, 2026, at 11:00am @ the United Church of Marco Island.
