Charles received a Bachelor degree from Nyack College, a Masters from University of New York, worked on his Doctorate at Loyola University and University of Houston, and received an honorary Doctorate from Toccoa Falls College.
Charles is remembered by the family as a loving and generous husband, father and grandfather. He is greatly loved by many who sat under his pastoral ministry as senior pastor of at least five churches in New York, Minnesota, and Vancouver, B.C. He touched the lives of many serving as interim pastor in numerous churches. He was Dean of Students and Professor of Homiletics and Pastoral Methods at St. Paul Bible College, now known as Crown College, where he inspired many to excel in the pastorate and on the mission field. He blessed people all over the world as he spoke in over 50 countries. Since his heart was especially tuned to missions and pastors, he founded Fairhaven Ministries Retreat and Counseling centers in Roan Mountain, Tennessee and Vernon, British Colombia, Canada. Hundreds of pastors and missionaries as well as lay people have enjoyed rest and counsel rebounding from difficult situations, or just refreshing from the press of this world. In addition to his pastoral, counseling and evangelistic ministries, he authored 11 books to encourage and help others in their Christian walk.
