Charles "Chuck" Francis Adams

Charles "Chuck" Francis Adams—a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, successful business owner, avid sports enthusiast, and lifelong friend to many—passed away in Ft. Myers, FL on Friday, September 18th, just shy of his 92nd birthday.

Born and raised in Fall River, Massachusetts, Chuck attended Durfee High School, where he forged lifelong friendships that spanned decades and met the love of his life, Anne Levitre. They married and shared a beautiful life together, raising their girls in Tiverton, and Touisset RI until her passing 20 years ago. Though she left this world early, Anne remained the true heart and soul of his life. He simply adored her.

Chuck lived a full, dynamic, and independent life defined by hard work, high energy, and deep devotion to those he loved. A sharp and savvy businessman, Chuck built and owned three successful auto-parts stores and a machine shop across Rhode Island and Massachusetts. After a flourishing career, he retired at age 55 to enjoy a long, active chapter in sunny Florida. He spent wonderful years living in Bonita Bay, Kelly Greens in Fort Myers, and most recently at Calusa Harbor Senior Living. Never one to sit still in retirement, Chuck thoroughly enjoyed working at JetBlue Park for the Boston Red Sox for three decades, as well as volunteering for over 20 years as a cart driver at Health Park Medical Center.

A gift for athletics defined Chuck throughout his entire life. He played second base in baseball well into his late 40s, was a member of the Fall River Country Club and a passionate golfer, sailor and dedicated basketball referee. He was a fierce competitor who loved sports in every form—whether playing, refereeing, or recently winning a local pool tournament. Though he enjoyed working for the Red Sox, Chuck remained a proud, lifelong New York Yankees fan at heart. In his later years, he loved watching tennis and golf on TV (especially LPGA tournaments), following sports, and enjoying Korean dramas with subtitles—with Extraordinary Attorney Woo being his favorite.

Above all his accomplishments and hobbies, Chuck was entirely selfless when it came to his family who called him “Bob.” His absolute favorite moments were spent on family vacations together in the Bahamas, creating memories that his family will cherish forever. He was a "guy's guy" and a true gentleman through and through—charismatic, sharp, and always connected with those around him, whether texting on his iPad, riding his tri- cycle or walking every morning, or sharing a laugh and vodka with friends.

Chuck is survived by his two daughters, Cheryl (and her husband, John) of Garden City, NY, and Susan of Fall River, MA; and his three cherished grandchildren, Jack McAuliffe (Irvine, CA), Samantha Glode (Fall River, MA), and Taylor Glode (Sarasota, FL), all of whom he adored beyond measure. He is reunited in peace with his beloved wife, Anne.

Chuck’s selflessness, warmth, competitive drive, quick humor, and sharp spirit will be missed deeply by all who were blessed to know him.
