Alice Louise Talley Irwin, 79, of Ft. Myers, Fla., went home to be with our Lord and Savior on December 11, 2018. Born in Moscow, Tenn., on May 7, 1939 to Daniel Bascom and Lula Mae Talley, she graduated from Fayette County High School in 1957 and followed with a nursing degree from Methodist Hospital School of Nursing in Memphis, Tenn.
She then joined the Air Force as a First Lieutenant in 1962 and was stationed at Maxwell Air Force Base in Alabama. There she met Earl Irwin, her husband of 55 years, and they were married February 27, 1963 and have three children. Alice and family settled in Maumee, where she worked at St. Luke’s Hospital until 1986. Alice was also a Brownie leader for her daughter’s Brownie troops. Alice and Earl then relocated to Ft. Myers, Fla. where she worked as a nurse at Southwest Regional Medical Center in the Cardio Surgical Intensive Care unit until she retired.
Alice is survived by her husband Earl, daughters Lisa (John) Berhnard of Ft. Myers, Tamara (Jeff) Mikulas of Fredericksburg, Va., son Daniel of Ft. Myers, granddaughters Allyson, Sarah and Ava, grandson Eric, sisters Carolyn (Leroy), Diane (Lee), Brenda (Bob), and brother Jim (Char), sister-in-law Barbara Talley and Linden Craig and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Lee and Michael. The family will hold a private service in Ft. Myers before returning her ashes to her home state of Tennessee.
