The gates of heaven opened wide for Wanda Sue Huff on August 13, 2022 at 11pm. At home surrounded by her loving family and friends her fragile body surrendered peacefully a week after her 74th birthday.
Wanda Sue Scrivner was born to J.W. and Lillian Scrivner in Cleveland, Mississippi on August 5, 1948. Sue grew up in Lake Village, Arkansas, and always considered that to be home. She graduated from Lakeside High School in 1966. Sue would go on to live a life full of childlike wonder and faith that could move mountains. She lit up every room and her optimism would raise your spirits on your hardest days. Always telling you “Don’t sweat the small stuff”, then feeding you a generous helping of banana pudding or her famous salmon patties to melt your cares away. Sue enjoyed time with her family, planting anything that would grow, music, church, and above all epic adventures with her children, nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. Her professions ranged from wearing a hard hat at Brown and Root to Healthcare Administrator positions in important Corporate America roles. After battling and winning stage 4 breast cancer in her 40s her favorite profession became being a grandmother to many beautiful grands and now 3 great grands.
Wanda Sue had five daughters, Melissa, Tamara, Nicole, Kristen, and Lynsey. She received a bonus son years later Cody Joseph. She was preceded in death by her parents and survived by her children, Melissa, Tamara, Nicole, Kristen (and Michael), Lynsey (and Scott), Cody Joseph (and Angel); Grandchildren, David, Mckayla (and Coleman), Joseph, Shelby (and Zack), Jaycee (and Tyler), Zane, Avery (and Dawson), Mason (and Harper), Payton, Kannon, Deven, Alizae, Caige, Annabelle, Kylor and Cain. Great Grandchildren Ashten, Wrenley, Colson, and another baby boy on the way.
Her Siblings: Ned (and Sheila) Scrivner, Dale (and Elizabeth) Scrivner, and Gail (and Jerry) Seamans.
Best friends: Carol Pruett, Chris Huff, Cindy Gamon, and Kim Mulvaney
Along with a glorious host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
