Thomas Allen Daniel, known by most as Tommy, went home to be with Jesus on February 26, 2021. He had pulmonary fibrosis. He was a member of Crossroads Christian Church in Grand Prairie and served there as a greeter/usher. He studied scripture thru Bible Study Fellowship for the past 7 years. He was born on Sept 17, 1944 in Roscoe, Texas to Loretta and Grady Daniel.
A Celebration of his life will be held on March 13, 2021 at Crossroads Christian Church at 6450 S State Highway 360 in Grand Prairie at 10 A M. All are welcome to come celebrate his life. He was a husband, Father, Step Father, and Grand Father.
Tommy loved cars, all kinds but mostly Fords – mustangs, Shelbys, F150 all things RED and FORD. He spent many years restoring and showing his cars across the country. He owned a 6 car hauler and would take his cars to car shows in Atlanta, Florida, Detroit, Oklahoma – where ever there were car shows he went. His restored Brittany Blue 1967 Shelby GT 500; won the highest points at that time for thoroughbred judging. Thoroughbred judging required ALL parts on the car to be original, no new old stock allowed. Advantage Auto Works did much of the work and all the paint. That was his best restoration; the one he was proudest of. He also restored a 1963 Red Ford Galaxy 500 XL, frame off total restoration and several others.
His second love was golf. He was a member of Thorntree Country Club and enjoyed playing with his “special” golf buddies. He was always dressed to the tee, matching shoes, shirt, belts, always coordinated in color and style. He strove for excellence, with his cars, on the course and especially with his yard. It had to be mowed twice a week, edged and always with straight lines. He took pride in his work, whether it was on the golf course, at church or restoring a car.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years Melanie Daniel, two daughters, Kelli Daniel and Kim Daniel, one Step daughter Heather Harris Heftler, one Grandson Connor Callan and one step Grandson Harrison Beagles, his sister Linda Duncan, and his “brother” Robert Cox and several nephews, cousins and their families
We will forever hold him in our hearts and speak of him often – never to be forgotten. We love you, always have, always will
