Robert Dewayn Holmes

Robert DeWayn Holmes, 68, of Weatherford, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with Cancer on August 18th, 2022. His sharp wit, sarcastic sense of humor, warm heart and generous spirit will be deeply missed.

Robert was born on May 8th, 1954 and was 1 of 6 children that were raised by Buckner Orphanage in Dallas, Texas. Robert grew up to get his cosmetology license and then later on decided to go on the road being a truck driver. He would continue to do this until retirement where he then helped his son run his businesses.

Robert is survived by his children, Johnny Cooper and Chelsea Holmes; Granddaughter, Finley Cooper; his 3 sisters, Neecy, Sheila and Pam and his ex wife/friend, Kathy Holmes.

Robert made it a point to let us know he did not want a funeral or visitation. He did not want people to cry and mourn the loss of him. Instead he requested everyone to celebrate getting to have been his friend. A Celebration of Life will be held at Fins Patio Bar & Grill in Weatherford on Sunday, August 28th, 2022 from 1:00pm to 4:00pm.
