William Chubbs Jr.

We mourn the loss of William Chubbs Jr., a beloved member of our community, who peacefully passed away on August 14, 2023, at the age of 85 in Suisun, California, United States. Born on August 18, 1937, to his loving parents, William Chubbs, and Clarabell (Carrie) McIver Chubbs, William Jr.'s presence will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate to have known him.

In 1970, William Jr. joined in holy matrimony with his devoted partner, Nursceil Chubbs. Over the course of their loving union, they were blessed with a son named Billy Ray, who brought immense joy and happiness to their lives. William Jr. was also a proud grandfather to three grandchildren, Zayna, Christian, and Shelby, and three great-grandchildren, Penelope, Alaster, and Rome, all who held a special place in his heart.

William Jr. received his education at W.B. Wicker School, where he demonstrated both intellect and determination. In 1954, William enlisted in the military where he served his country as a member of the Army. His time in the military demonstrated his unwavering courage, loyalty, and patriotism, qualities that will be forever admired.

Following his studies, William Jr. dedicated his professional life to American Airlines as an Operations Manager, where he made lasting contributions to the company and built strong connections with his coworkers for 41 years. He wholeheartedly embraced his role, bringing a sense of professionalism and dedication to his everyday work.

Throughout his life, Bill enjoyed betting on horses at the racetrack, watching baseball and basketball games on television, and playing recreation softball. Bill will be remembered for his kind and compassionate nature, his gentle spirit, and his unwavering love for his family and friends. He possessed a rare ability to make those around him feel valued and loved, leaving an indelible mark on their lives.

On this solemn occasion as we bid farewell to Bill, we find solace in the knowledge that he lived a life filled with love, happiness, and purpose. His memory will forever be cherished by his family, friends, and all those who had the privilege of crossing his path.

Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of Bill’s life on Sunday, September 10th at 12:00pm. The memorial will be held at Fernwood Funeral Home at 301 Tennessee Valley Road, Mill Valley, CA 94941.
