Norma Baker of Fairfield, CA passed away on Wednesday, December 31st, at the age of 97. She was born near Seymore, Missouri on August 13, 1928. Norma spent most of her life in Fairfield, California for over 83 years. She had 5 brothers and 3 sisters. Her younger brother, Jack Letterman, is still living in Vacaville. We all really counted on him for his love and support.
Norma worked for AT&T for approximately 30 years, before 911 and long-distance dialing. She loved her job and made life-long friends and worked along with her two sisters, daughter, and several sisters-in-law.
Norma met her husband Dave Baker when a match was made by both of their adult children. Dave and Mom were married for 39 years. Our family is blessed having Dave in our family. He was dedicated and took great care of her during her long health struggle.
Norma was preceded by her parents, Niza and William Letterman and tragic death of her daughter, Theresa Gilley, in December of 1967. She is survived by her adult children, Jim Gilley, Vickey Gilley-Mosier and son, Danny Gilley. She raised her granddaughter Dawn Gilley after Theresa’s death. She has many grandchildren, great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
