Guy will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Guy was born in Laurel, Mississippi, the only child of Charlie and Delois Morgan. After leaving Laurel and after a somewhat brief detour that included attending Vanderbilt University in Nashville, he made his way to San Jose, California, where he attended San Jose State University and made many lifelong friends.
While working at NASA Ames Research Center, Guy earned his master’s degree from San Francisco State University. It was during his time at Ames that he developed an interest in computers, an interest that would shape the course of his career.
Guy’s passions were many and varied. He loved boating — both sail and motor — as well as real estate, the SF Giants, the San Francisco 49ers, and especially the Grateful Dead. He was an avid reader, loved science fiction, and was a movie buff. Guy approached life with optimism and enthusiasm and could almost always be counted on to say “yes” to any new adventure or idea.
Guy is survived by his wife, Cindy; his two children, Billy and Sierra; and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Delois Morgan.
At Guy’s request, there will be no formal funeral or memorial service. Those wishing to honor his memory may consider a donation to their local humane society or library.
