In 1942, she moved to California with her family. In 1968, she settled in Benicia, California, where she raised her two daughters, Charlene and Shirley. LaVerne dedicated 30 years of service to Kaiser Permanente, where she worked in the Housekeeping Department before retiring.
In 2004, LaVerne met the love of her life, Daniel "Dan" Riedinger, at Graceway Church. Their friendship quickly blossomed into love, and they were married the following year. Together they shared many happy years filled with laughter, companionship, faith, and adventure.
LaVerne found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved exploring thrift stores and yard sales in search of hidden "treasures," listening to country music, working on puzzles, traveling, attending church, and spending time with family and friends. She especially enjoyed making memories with those she loved and never missed an opportunity to gather with family.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Daniel Riedinger, and her parents, Skeet and Opal Lynn. LaVerne is survived by her brother, Don Lynn; her daughters, Charlene McReynolds and Shirley York; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
LaVerne will be remembered for her strength, her quick wit, her memorable expressions, and her infectious laughter. Though she will be greatly missed, her loved ones find comfort in knowing she has been reunited with Dan, and other loved ones.
Her legacy of love, kindness, and treasured memories will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
