I flew with Jack as an S/O on the 707 and DC10. He made the trips a great pleasure with his relaxed leadership. Many times he would bring some wine to share on the layover.
The airlines need more pilots and friends like Jack.

I flew numerous times with Jack, as his Second Officer, back in the 707 /720B Honolulu era. In his laid back nature, he was a joy to fly with. I fondly recall, after the end of a long trip , Jack took the entire crew to his warehouse for a tasting of a fine grouping of wines! An example of what a gentleman he was, as a wedding gift, he and Barbara hosted Marie and I to an overnight at their charming SFO bed & breakfast establishment. You will be sincerely missed Jack. As we old Navy guys say: "Fair winds and following seas". Gregg

Jack was a class act and a joy to work with. He had knack for making those who shared his cockpit feel good about themselves. If you appreciated San Francisco Victorians or fine French wines, Jack was someone worth knowing. He was a best friend to the retired Western Silverchiefs making sure they had good wine at the annual gathering. Rest in peace Jack….its well deserved
