Hattie Bea Griffin

Hattie married Croco Cleo Griffin in 1946 and moved to San Francisco. From this union, three children were born: Michael Anthony (deceased), Donald Ray, and Deborah Elaine. For many years, Hattie worked in San Francisco as a home health aide. Her true joy in life was caring for and helping disabled people.

Hattie—or "Moms," as she was affectionately called by most—was a faithful member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church. Health permitting, she actively served in the culinary ministry, Sunday School, the Seniors ministry, and on the Mothers Board.

Hattie departed this life on September 13, 2026, at the age of 95.

She leaves to cherish her memory and celebrate her homegoing: her son, Donald Griffin (Lisa) of Council Bluffs, Iowa; her daughter, Deborah Austin (Gregory) of American Canyon, California; a bonus daughter, Gloria Washington; and a very special friend and sister, Dorothy McCullough.

She was blessed with 10 grandchildren: Michele, Gregory Jr., Demetrius Sr., Danielle, Chondra, Tiosha, Mattia, Kendrick, Shannon, and Vance; 16 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended relatives, and loving friends.
