Donna Mae Boothe

Donna was born on February 9, 1948, in Richmond, California, to Charles “Chuck” Thompson and Carol Mae Thompson. She graduated from Richmond Union High School in 1966. At just 15 years old, she met the love of her life, Ron Boothe. What began as young love grew into a lifelong partnership, and they were married in 1966. Together they shared 60 years of unwavering love, friendship, laughter, and devotion, creating a life centered on family.

Donna began her career as a cosmetologist before joining the Department of Veterans Affairs. Through years of dedication and hard work, she advanced to become a GS-11 Personnel Analyst. She took great pride in her work and in supporting those who had served our country.

Although she valued her career, Donna’s greatest purpose was her family. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and an extraordinary grandmother whose greatest joy came from watching her family grow. She rarely missed an opportunity to cheer from the sidelines or applaud from the audience, faithfully attending her grandchildren’s sporting events, dance recitals, music performances, academic ceremonies, and every milestone in between. Whether the occasion was big or small, Grandma/Mema was there—offering encouragement, celebrating every accomplishment, and making each grandchild feel deeply loved and supported.

Donna is survived by her devoted husband of 60 years, Ron Boothe; her son, Timothy Boothe, and daughter-in-law, Kristen Boothe; her daughter, Deanna Christofferson, and son-in-law, Erik Christofferson; and her six beloved grandchildren: Jake Boothe, Matthew Stone, Logan Boothe, Dylan Boothe, Ryan Boothe, and Emma Christofferson. Her family was the center of her world, and they were the source of her greatest pride.

She is also survived by her sister, Maria Floberg and brother in law, Richard Floberg . She was preceded in death by her beloved brother, Charles “Chuckie” Thompson, whose bond with Donna remained strong throughout their lives.

Donna had a remarkable ability to make people feel like family. Her warmth, kindness, and genuine interest in others created lifelong friendships that she treasured as deeply as family itself. She loved competitive bowling, traveling with Ron, especially taking cruises and enjoying weekend getaways to Cache Creek or Reno. She also enjoyed a spirited game of bingo and was known to bring both laughter and a competitive streak whenever she played.

Donna’s legacy is not measured by titles or accomplishments, but by the love she poured into the people around her. She taught those closest to her the importance of showing up, celebrating one another, and making family the highest priority. Her love was steadfast, her support unwavering, and her presence was a constant source of comfort and joy.

Though she will be profoundly missed, the example she set and the memories she created will continue to guide and inspire those who were blessed to know and love her. Her love lives on in every family gathering, every shared story, and every grandchild she so faithfully cheered on.

Following the service, Donna’s family warmly invites you to join them for coffee and pastries, shared memories, and a video tribute celebrating her life. The local address will be provided at the conclusion of the service. Guests are also invited to wear bright or floral colors in celebration of Donna’s vibrant life.
