Richard Lee Easterling

Richard Lee Easterling, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 27, 2026, at the age of 78.

Richard was born on May 5, 1948, in San Diego, California, to Robert and Margaret Easterling. Throughout his life, Richard was a devoted husband and father and a man who took great pride in his family.

Richard dedicated 32 years of his life to serving Placer County as a Correctional Officer. His long career was a reflection of his dedication, commitment, and service to his community. He will be remembered by his colleagues and those he served for his many years of dedicated service.

Richard is survived by his loving wife, Diana Easterling; his daughters, Christian Leurgans(Matthew)and Kimberley Williams(Francisco); his grandsons, Connor Leurgans and Noah Leurgans; and his sisters, Geralyn White(Steve) and Julie Sorric(Tim). He is also survived by his numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Dennis Easterling(Toni).

Richard's family was an important part of his life. He cherished the relationships he shared with his wife, daughters, grandchildren, sisters, nieces, nephews, and extended family. The memories created over the years will remain a lasting part of his legacy.

Richard was cremated according to his wishes. His ashes will be scattered into the San Francisco Bay at a later date. A celebration of Richard's life will also be held at a later date, where family and friends will gather to honor his memory and share the many special memories he leaves behind.

Richard was deeply loved, greatly respected, and will be forever remembered by his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched. His 32 years of dedicated service and the love he gave to his family will continue to be remembered for generations to come.
