Janie Marie Salvatto (JMS), a beloved wife, mother, sister, and cherished friend, was predeceased by her devoted husband, Norman Joseph Salvatto, in 06/2009, and by her dear son, James Joseph Salvatto, in 10/2016. Their memory lives on in those she touched.
As the youngest child, JMS was cherished in the large Bagley family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Pearl Jones-Bagley and Alex Bagley, and her siblings: Hugo Bagley, Jancy Bagley, Darnell Bagley-Bernard, James Bagley, Jean Bagley-Chambers-Spivey, and Russell Bagley.
Despite these losses, JMS leaves behind a loving and devoted family whose lives she touched deeply. She is survived by her cherished daughters, Marie Celeste Salvatto and Norma Alexandria Salvatto-Thomas; her beloved grandchildren, Adrian Goodall, Damian Salvatto, Antwain Salvatto, Stephanie Smith-Nicholas, Toyin Akinbolajo-Gueye, Jalise Salvatto, Adeyinka Thomas, Adenike Thomas, Andre Salvatto, Bankole Thomas, Kayla Salvatto, and Jaylen Salvatto; and her great-grandchildren, nephews, and nieces, whose hearts she warmed with her love.
JMS's devotion extended beyond her family. She graduated from Commerce High School in 1952. She volunteered at many school and social functions, PTA, Girl Scouts of America, and N.C.C.'s Ladies Auxiliary, to name a few. She was employed as a Secretary for 30 years at several businesses, including Macy's, NYC; Leon Wright Enterprise, Yonkers, NY; and Ciba-Geigy, Ardsley, NY.
In addition to her professional and social contributions, JMS was a woman of deep faith whose unwavering devotion inspired those around her. She shared the good news with passion and warmth, lifting the spirits of everyone she encountered.
For all these reasons and more, JMS will be sorely missed.
