William Kirk Wiggins

Bill was born on November 12, 1928 to Dr. Carryl and Aletha Wiggins in Exeter, Nebraska. He graduated from El Reno High School in 1946. He joined the United States Marine Corp. in August, 1946. During his service career he was an aircraft mechanic and later was a Military Police Officer during the Korean conflict. In 1952 he married Maxine Howarton and from that union two children were born, Kristal and John. Bill then married Cecilia Young in 1966, the family consisted of Pam Young, Kevin Young and Ann Wiggins. In 1985, Bill married LuAlyce (Compton) Ward. They enjoyed traveling in an R.V. all over the United States.

Bill was employed as a Switchman with the Rock Island RailRoad and Union Pacific RailRoad for 36 years until his retirement. He was a member of First Baptist Church, NARVE and a 46-year member of the American Legion.

Bill was preceded in death by his mother and father, Dr. Carryl and Aletha Wiggins; sister, Peggy Johnston; and brother, Jack Wiggins.

Bill is survived by his daughter, Ann Wiggins and Brad Byrne; grandchildren: Lauren Lerch, Landon Lerch, and Kaitlyn Pierce; great-grandson, Liam Lerch; and Kristal and John and their children.

Graveside services will be held at the El Reno Cemetery Pavillion on Wednesday, July 9th at 10:30 a.m.
