She was the youngest of six children. Gene Snodgrass and Carolyn Evans, sisters; John Clarke, half-brother, and Helen Harvey and Virginia Brown, half-sisters. She grew up in Oklahoma on farms as a child during the depression.
Memories included helping her Father do chores, riding Prince (fav horse), & playing outside with her sisters. After high school she obtained a bachelor degree in commerce at the University of Kentucky. She resided in Ponca City OK to help care for her Mother while working for Conoco. Then moved to San Francisco in the sixties and to Anchorage AK in the seventies, where she worked for the National Weather Service for about twenty years. While In Alaska she met and became life-long friends with Fran Smith. After retirement they moved to Reno NV to be closer to family for another twenty years. At the age of 92, in May 2023, she moved to Oklahoma City to be closer to her nieces due to failing health. Jo’s family maintained a close relationship with her throughout her lifetime.

Family members remaining include Virginia Brown, half-sister; Frances Smith, best friend; nieces and nephews: Jeanette (Evans) Easterling & husband Grant; Jody (Evans) Wemhaner; Priscilla (Snodgrass) Chastain & husband Steve; David Evans & wife Barbara; Dean Snodgrass & wife Terry; Russell Brown; Alice (Brown) Briggs & husband Peter; Marilyn Clarke; Linda (Clarke) Williams & husband Tim; Donna (Clarke) Ninemire & husband Skip; Sharon Clarke; Nita (Clarke) Anderson & husband Randy; John Harvey & wife Carolyn; Clarke Harvey & wife Donna; Nancy Long & husband Mike; Becky Harvey; and numerous great-nieces and Great-nephews.
As an adult, she was travel enthusiast—visiting friends and family, attending annual family reunions in CO, and traveling in the motor home with Fran & their cat Chessie. In addition, they took numerous trips and cruises to other countries. Her past-times included reading, photography, playing golf, watching sports on TV, gambling in Reno, playing games, especially a dice game “zilch”. Her dry sense of humor and Quick wit was always a delight.
In the last three months of Nancy Jo’s life she resided at St Ann’s Skilled Nursing and Therapy in Oklahoma City. There she enjoyed the caring staff and fun activities. Jo was greatly loved by her family and friends and will be forever missed. She was cremated and the inurnment will be at the Resthaven Cemetery in Ponca City, OK according to her wishes.
