Always ready with a humorous remark, David lived a full life as a devoted husband to his wife of almost 50 years, Roni, a loving father to his two children, Adrienne and Adam, a doting grandfather to his granddaughter Desirae, a cat/dog daddy to the family’s beloved pets, and a treasured friend to many.
David was born in Oklahoma City on March 15, 1950, to Jack and Evelyn Nobles. Growing up he enjoyed playing many sports, including football and baseball. He developed a lifelong love for the game of golf, honing his skills while working at Lincoln Park Golf Course in high school.
David was a proud graduate of the University of Oklahoma where he majored in history and philosophy, became a member of the Kappa Sigma fraternity, and participated in the Army ROTC program. He rose to the rank of second lieutenant in the U.S. Army before his honorable discharge. He later served in the Army Reserves, where he was ranked as a second lieutenant Quartermaster officer.
David enjoyed a long, successful career in sales, primarily in industrial chemicals, where he particularly liked visiting clients in the field. David loved to laugh, cheer on his Oklahoma Sooners in any sport, and sip on a good glass of scotch.
He will be deeply missed by his family and friends, who will celebrate his life at a private gathering in January.
Please consider honoring David's life with a gift to the OU Foundation supporting the Department of History at the link below.
